Disparaging his work on chapter IV of "The Passion of Dr. Ludovicus," and giving suggestions for chapter V, to be written by Moore. Apologizing for his "slackness" of late, noting that he has been "awfully seedy this week" and has been "partaking of naught save beef tea au cognac." With a postscript noting that he "heard from my petite Californienne [Little Flossie] yesterday."
